One in five U.S. teenagers who regularly log on to the Internet says they have received an unwanted sexual solicitation via the Web. Online Predators are defined as individuals who participate or engage in predatory, exploitative behavior through an online presence. When children go online, they have direct and immediate access to friends, family, and complete strangers, which can put unsuspecting children at great risk. Children who meet and communicate with strangers online are easy prey for Internet predators. In many cases, Online Predators utilize computational networking systems in the form of the Internet to take advantage of or prey upon their victims. In this day in age kids and teens have to deal with things such as online predators due to our advances in technology that many of their parents including mine did not have to deal with. It is imperative that you as a parent educate your kids on the dangers of online predators. It is also very important that parents keep up with news about new apps and games that could lead to their kid to communicating with an online predator.

The internet is a viscous cycle of advertising and promoting things that should not be promoted. There should be an age limit for kids getting access to social media cites. Internet predators are more common now with the unlimited resources for posting and changing things that create believable images that portray to the person of interest what they are saying. Online dating and communicating becomes more common every day. Parents should be more aware of who their kids are talking to and how they talking to them because signals are apparent when things are off or not how they normally are on typical cites such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
